2nd Annual Thank You Sunday

Last year, on October 9th we were sitting in an hotel room in Manila waiting to go to Sunday service at one of the large churches in the Green Hills Center. Just days before we had escaped the ravages of Ondoy and Pepeng the Tsunamis.

Riding in a diesel powered SUV on the highway from Manila to Baquio, we suddenly encountered rising waters... 6 inches, 9 inches, 1 foot, 2 feet, etc.

The dam waters had been released and the public didn't know. The rising of the waters reached over 10 feet and more than 600 people lost their lives.

We have so much to be thankful for - God saved us! We were thankful to our driver who bravely navigated our vehicle through 3 feet of water. We thank our friends who prayed for us diligently that we would return home safely.

Every day of our lives, we have many things to be thankful for. On October 10th, let's make this day a day to remember to tangibly say thank you to those who have blessed our lives!

A little card, a note, a hug, a kiss.

Only in America do we hear the two little words, "thank you," almost every day of our lives!
